Chef Wes Makes Celebrity Appearance at Pumped For Pink

This past Saturday Chef Wes made a celebrity appearance at the Pumped For Pink 10k charity race.  The inaugural race, hosted by Knuckle Up, was run to raise money for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

One highlight of the race was the presence of UFC veteran Junior Assuncao.  Junior was in town to pump up the charity event and made a lot of friends on the Outer Banks.  What a great way to kick off the inaugural event with a pro athlete.

Christina and Aaron of OBX Massage Therapy were on hand to provide after race massages to participants.  Aaron and Christina offered massages by the minute and provided welcome relief to the hard working contestants.

Aaron and Christina own and operate OBX Massage Therapy, and provide a variety of at-home massage packages. They offer Swedish, deep tissue, facials and more. They also feature a range of bridal packages for both grooms and brides.

The Pumped For Pink 10k raised a lot of money for the fight against breast cancer and the runners had a load of fun.  Knuckle Up would like to thank all of the contestants and remind everyone to set aside some time for next year’s race.

Chef Wes made a donation for this great cause and provided gift certificates for the runners.  Race directors Matt Costa and Reverend Jay Bowman also prevailed upon Chef Wes to certify the after race refreshments.
