Last night we brought the Red Sky crew to Duck Woods Country Club for the annual March of Dimes Outer Banks Signature Chefs Auction , a black tie event featuring delicious food and incredible bidding opportunities. Take a look at our setup and our menu, featuring Outer Banks seafood of course:
Special Menu for a Special Event
We like to go all-out for this Gala, experimenting with food pairings and highlighting the breadth and quality of locally sourced ingredients. This year our menu was themed “Sourthern Comfort“, and featured 2 entrees and a particularly amazing dessert:
Southern Contemporary Surf & Turf: Pulled Pork BBQ on Cornbread crostini w/ house made strawberry bbq sauce and NC Poached Quail Egg, served with Currituck Sweet Potato and mash stick fries
Cast-iron Seared Wanchese Tuna: Served on Sweet Potato Sushi Rice and crispy local fried Pork Rind Drizzled w/ cucumber Wasabi Vinaigrette and spiced micro greens.
For dessert, we had a phenomenal Woods Farm Bacon laced Banana Pudding, prepared with help from the talented Rebecca at Simply Sweet OBX. Yum!
Signature Chefs Auction Pictures
Aside from the fun we have in seeing friends all dressed up and Chefs from other restaurants, we’re always happy to support our community. Last year the Signature Chefs Auction raised over 50,000, 5,000 more than the money raised in 2014, and we hope that this year we raised even more.
