Highlights From Taste Of The Beach

The Taste of the Beach is done for another year, and it was a HUGE success. Chef Wes Stepp and the staff of the Red Sky Cafe were a big hit for the Duck Tapas Crawl on Friday. The unexpected rain didn’t slow anyone down either. Plenty of people came in to try the fantastic fare. And by the time they made it to the last stop, the guests were crawling after being stuffed with so much great food.

On Sunday, at the Nags Head TOB Expo, many of the local Outer Banks restaurants were on display. The food was amazing, and everyone had a great time. The smell of delicious food was overwhelming, and anyone who went away hungry only had themselves to blame. The Red Sky booth kept cooking fresh “Duck Village Salads” with local Wanchese shrimp, along with seared, rare Yellowfin Tuna and seaweed salad. All of the guests loved it!

If you missed the Tapas Crawl in Duck or the Expo in Nags Head, you can still have a great meal at the Red Sky Cafe in Duck. But next year, make sure you take part in the Taste of the Beach. Its an experience you won’t want to miss again!

Are you ready for some of the best food available on the Outer Banks? You’d better be, because today is the official start of the Taste of the Beach!

This is a 20 year old tradition on the beach, and it gets bigger and better every year, and this looks to be the biggest! Today alone there are eight different events to choose from including a chance to meet Ed Brantley & Heba Salama from “The Biggest Loser”, a beer and food matching event, and a wine and cheese tasting this evening. That’s just to name a few. And it’s not just today; the event runs through Sunday, March 14th.

Tomorrow, the Red Sky Cafe, Roadside Grill and The Blue Point are holding the Taste of Tapas in Duck. But you better have already gotten you’re tickets, because this event is already sold out.

However, just because you can’t do the tapas crawl, doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the great food made by Chef Wes at the Red Sky Café. You can always stop in for lunch or dinner.

Hey, it’s that time of the year again – the Outer Banks Taste of The Beach is coming up in just a couple of weeks and Red Sky Cafe is preparing a major event for you.

In case you dont already know, the Outer Banks Restaurant Association (OBRA) has been hosting the Taste of The Beach for over 20 years. This grand food festival event on The Outer Banks of North Carolina features wine tastings, cooking classes, special menu presentations, celebrity guest chef appearances by Ed Brantley & Heba Salama from “The Biggest Loser”, brewery tours, tapas crawls and many more events with exciting array of creative combinations of culinary delights and fun activities on the Outer Banks.

When: Events start on the 11th, the official Expo is on Sunday the 14th, from 6-8:30pm
Where: Pamlico Jack’s Pirate Hideaway, Mp 15 on Hwy 158
How Much: $50 per person

Tapas Crawl In Duck

On Friday, March 12th, the Red Sky Cafe, Roadside Grill and The Blue Point are holding a unforgettable Tapas Crawl.

If the weather allows, you can stumble from one restaurant to the other tasting the best selection from each of the Restaurants and get to know what we’re all about.

Unfortunately, all tickets are sold out for the tapas crawl. But we’d still love to have you here 😉
