The Outer Banks Thanksgiving Feast At The Red Sky Cafe

Watch as Chef Wes Stepp introduces us to the scrumptious Thanksgiving feast at the Red Sky Cafe.

Thanksgiving at Red Sky has been a tradition for years, and the restaurant usually has full capacity taken by Noon, but I was able to get there early and have Wes walk us through his entire set up.

The abundance of treats made it REALLY hard to decide what to eat and when to eat it

Props to the house-smoked salmon w/ dill cream – the salmon was melting on my mouth, had a rich smokiness to it, which the dill cream totally complemented. Also, all the different oysters preparations were right on the spot – you could see that they were really fresh.

For those of you that were there, THANK YOU. The entire staff at Red Sky is thankful for being able to share this special day with you.

New Red Sky Fall Dinner Menu Available For Download

Temperatures have finally hit a consistent low here in the Outer Banks – that usually means it’s Fall. Not only that, but it means it’s time for big flavor bombs, with enough body to sustain and warm our bodies.

It’s time for your food to go beyond nutrition and replenish your warmth. That’s what the theme for the new Fall 09 Red Sky Cafe dinner menu is all about.

Yesterday you saw chef wes cooking Rockfish, a staple of Outer Banks seafood, with a nice herbed goat cheese melt as the sauce for the Sundried tomato pesto.

That also goes to show how Seafood can (and should) be incorporated into winter dishes, including holiday dinners and Thankgiving. A beautiful piece of Rockfish can easily take the place of a chicken or pork dish, adding higher quality protein and much less calories.

We're preparing a deliciously homemade Thanksgiving dinner for you - To Go!

Thanksgiving in the Outer Banks tends to be one of two ways: either your entire family comes down to stay, or you end up packing up and going to stay with them. If you’re leaving the beach, we wish you the best Thanksgiving and a great time with the family.

If you’re staying….

Well, let’s just say we’re taking you and your entire family (no matter how many distant Aunts and Uncles are coming to share the couch) on an unforgettable Thanksgiving experience that is not only going to satisfy everybody’s palate, but also save you A LOT OF TIME in front of the stove.

Our goal is to get you out of the kitchen and in the couch with everybody else. And we guarantee you’re not going to regret it!

The chefs at the Red Sky Cafe are working on a complete Thanksgiving dinner menu that we’ll prepare the day of so you can just come pick it up and serve it fresh to your family.

Our Outer Banks Thanksgiving dinner is HOT

Our catering manager Eric Kallestead will put the menu together and we’ll soon release it here.

After all, if you’re not going to escape the winter and go to South America get a nice bikini tan with the guy to your right, you deserve a special Thanksgiving without raking in stove-miles.
