We all love going out to a nice restaurant, enjoying a relaxed dinner, having somebody serve, cook, and clean for you, and not worrying about burning the rice, or overcooking the fish...
And if you're going to have a dinner party, good luck conciliating the cooking and the party; it only looks easy on the Food Network.
But what if you could have all the restaurant pampering in the comfort of your own home (or Rental), without stepping foot in the kitchen?

What A Great Outer Banks Wedding Catering Looks Like…
This Saturday, I had the honor of accompanying The Red Sky Cafe catering team to a beautiful wedding in the Whalehead Club in Corolla (NC). Of course, I took my camera with me and took some amazing footage - be sure to have a napkin around before watching it ;)
I'm not a professional video guy at all, but I know great food - and that's what I focused on.
Notice how even with my amateur video skills, all of the food looks fresh and exciting - there's no trick there. Everything is prepared and presented in a way that prevents it ...
Cooking Outer Banks Seafood W/ Chef Wes Stepp – Rockfish
On the first of a new series of videos, Chef Wes prepares a beautiful Rockfish (striped sea bass) on a Sundried Tomato Pesto Marinade with fresh Lump Crab Meat. To top it off, a generous portion of herbed goat cheese melts on top of the flavorful seafood.
We're in the middle of service at the Red Sky Cafe, and Chef Wes Stepp goes over how simple and easy it is to incorporate a delicious seafood dish into your Thanksgiving dinner - or any traditional Holiday meal.
The dish came out absolutely delicious - the herbed goat cheese and the pine nuts added ...

if you cant load the video above, click here
Somebody mentioned they couldnt see the food very well in the nags head wedding video, so I put together this mouthwatering video - it's got amazing details on the food, and it's just hard not to eat my monitor.
I tried to identify exactly what the camera was showing, but some of the captions came out wrong. Hopefully the great Red Sky cuisine will redeem my mistake ;)
We've been getting a lot of requests for our obx wedding menus - and people want to know more about what Chef Wes suggests for an ...
Outer Banks Wedding Guide: Scrumptious Catering!
After the huge success of our first outer banks wedding catering video, we got lots of requests to post more videos, and give more detailed tips on what it really takes to run a successful obx wedding.
This time, I caught up with Chef Wes and his wife Cindy at the Comfort Inn hotel in South Nags Head - they were catering for 150 guests of this really fun local couple.
Here's an insider secret: events at the Comfort Inn are usually ran by their in-house catering staff, but the bride and groom requested that Red Sky catered for them.
And of course, ...
The Outer Banks Thanksgiving Feast At The Red Sky Cafe
Watch as Chef Wes Stepp introduces us to the scrumptious Thanksgiving feast at the Red Sky Cafe.
Thanksgiving at Red Sky has been a tradition for years, and the restaurant usually has full capacity taken by Noon, but I was able to get there early and have Wes walk us through his entire set up.
The abundance of treats made it REALLY hard to decide what to eat and when to eat it ;)
Props to the house-smoked salmon w/ dill cream - the salmon was melting on my mouth, had a rich smokiness to it, which the dill cream totally complemented. Also, ...
Wedding Tasting At Red Sky – Outer Banks’ Top Catering Services!
Yesterday the Red Sky Cafe hosted a wedding tasting for Jen & John, the "reality Bride & Groom".
They're recording every step of their wedding planning for an online documentary, and they chose the Red Sky to cater for their wedding.
To accommodate everybody's request, Chef Wes prepared a huge tasting platter - as you can see on the video, the bride and groom did not expect such an abundant tasting.
According to Chef Wes Stepp, tastings usually have an average of 7-8 dishes, and he doesnt skim on the servings. His wife Cindy says that many times the couple is so busy during ...

On Tuesday March, 9th the Red Sky Café hosted a charity dinner to benefit a group of Christian Youth Missionaries. The youth group is heading to South America to educate and assist the poor people of Guyana.
In an amazing show of support to the young missionaries, the wonderful staff of the Red Sky Café worked completely for free so there would be no payroll for the event. Also, the Outer Banks Seafood Company very generously payed for all the food costs. These two charitable acts ensured that all proceeds would go straight to the Christian Youth Missionaries.
However, the most amazing act of generosity came from all the people who ordered dinner for the event. It was estimated that about 200 people would order dinner that night. In reality, over 300 dinners were prepared by Chef Wess and his staff. The huge turnout in support of this cause was able to raise nearly $5,000 dollars!
We would like to thank Chef Wes and the Staff at the Red Sky Café, and Outer banks Seafood Co. However, the biggest thanks have to go to everyone who ordered dinner that night. Your support was overwhelming.
Our thoughts and prayers will go with the Christian Youth Missionaries as they go to help those in need. Good luck to you, and be safe.
Are you ready for some of the best food available on the Outer Banks? You’d better be, because today is the official start of the Taste of the Beach!
This is a 20 year old tradition on the beach, and it gets bigger and better every year, and this looks to be the biggest! Today alone there are eight different events to choose from including a chance to meet Ed Brantley & Heba Salama from “The Biggest Loser”, a beer and food matching event, and a wine and cheese tasting this evening. That’s just to name a few. And it’s not just today; the event runs through Sunday, March 14th.
Tomorrow, the Red Sky Cafe, Roadside Grill and The Blue Point are holding the Taste of Tapas in Duck. But you better have already gotten you’re tickets, because this event is already sold out.
Why would anyone settle for less?
However, just because you can’t do the tapas crawl, doesn’t mean you need to miss out on the great food made by Chef Wes at the Red Sky Café. You can always stop in for lunch or dinner.
This year there are over 60 different events to choose from, so there is definitely something for everyone. Check out the Taste of the Beach schedule for all of the events.
Chef Wes Stepp and the entire Red Sky Cafe staff will be preparing a very special dinner to benefit a group of Christian Youth Missionaries that are on their way to Guyana, in South America, and need our donation.
(Click on the links to know more about their generous programs and communities)
The Dinner
Your entire dinner will cost $15 per person.
Diners get a choice of Beef, Chicken, or Seafood. Beef will be served with Mashed Red Potatoes, and Chicken and Seafood with the Red Sky’s famous Redneck Risotto (Asiago Cheese Grits). All dishes are served with a selection of seasonal vegetables and a large drink.
Orders are available for takeout as well as in the restaurant. All proceeds go to the Mission fund.
The Mission
Guyana suffers substantially from institutional weakness and low capacity in gathering, collecting and aggregating social sector data. As a result, local government encounters serious challenges in measuring poverty data, which hinders their ability to target where to allocate the few resources available.
The Guyana government is still fundamentally unstable and lacks the resources to address most of what the country needs.
Our missionaries are going there to help educate the population and sincerely appreciate your help.
Come on over, enjoy Chef Wes’ delicious food, and help out on a great cause.
Chef Wes Stepp has recently opened Outer Banks Seafood Company in Virginia Beach, and we were invited to the final staff training day, the menu presentation.
In case you dont know, that’s when Chef cooks the entire menu for the staff, so they get familiar with the food and understand exactly what is on the menu. It’s also the most delicious training day ever
The restaurant is located at 1080 Nimmo Parkway, in the Red Mills neighborhood in Virginia Beach, and it’s a beautiful location. Overlooking a large lake, surrounded by huge mansions, staffed with high-quality professionals and serving the same deliciously fresh seafood that made Red Sky Cafe a landmark in the Outer Banks, Chef Wes’ new restaurant is already a major success.
